Tells about Carl Johnson or commonly abbreviated as CJ, who has left San Andreas for more than five years. Then CJ is called by his sister named Candy to tell CJ that his mother has died because of being killed by their sworn enemy gang, namely The Ballas.
Therefore CJ inevitably has to return to his hometown in San Andreas, Los Santos. After returning from his mother's funeral, CJ met with The Ballas then CJ promised his gang not to leave his gang again called Groove Avenue Household because when CJ left Groove Avenue, this gang was the worst gang in San Andreas.
In the city of Los Santos, CJ has two friends who have been considered like his own family namely Large Smoke and Ryder. The four of them; CJ, Candy, Large Smoke, and Ryder and their gang try their best to restore Groove Avenue to its former glory.
While trying to restore Groove Avenue's glory, CJ is framed by his two friends, OG Loc and Crash or commonly known as Eddie Pulaski and Tenpenny, a lecherous policeman who is on a drug case.
As Groove Avenue starts to rise again, Candy gets a life sentence for being slandered by someone else. When CJ finds out that Candy was framed, he learns that Large Smoke and Ryder are betraying CJ. After that CJ sees Large Smoke, Ryder, and Tenpenny in the Inexperienced Saber, the car used to kill CJ's mother.
After that CJ was trapped and taken away from the city of Los Santos or taken to the vicinity of Mount Chilliad. In the city, CJ meets a new friend named Catalina, Cesar's cousin.
CJ and Catalina robbed several financial institutions there, then Catalina and her boyfriend invited CJ to race. After the race, they met a mafia boss named Woozie. After defeating his girlfriend Catalina, CJ went to the city of San Fierro and he started his business in the city.
In the city of San Fierro again, CJ manages to kill one of the traitors, Ryder. After that CJ befriends Woozie who is the leader of the Triads gang. Then CJ meets Toreno who knows everything about CJ and he will promise to free Candy from prison.
After that CJ was invited by Woozie to become a business associate at Dragon's On line casino in the city of Las Venturas. While in Las Venturas, CJ will meet Kent Paul and Ken Rosenberg. Then they managed to kill one of the depraved policemen, namely Eddie Pulaski.
Then CJ returned to the city of Los Santos to start a leisure business with his new friend. At that time Candy was freed by Toreno. After that CJ managed to raise his gang, Groove Avenue Household.
Then what about the fate of Large Smoke? CJ with a heavy heart must kill Large Smoke because he has betrayed and killed his mother and CJ again kills Tenpenny after successfully killing Large Smoke.
