Carl Johnson or what is commonly spoken by CJ is the protagonist and main personality of GTA San Andreas. CJ's voice actor is someone named Chris Bellard, or who is usually called Young Maylay.

Carl Johnson is the second child of Beverly Johnson. He has 3 more relatives, namely his brother Sweet, and 2 younger siblings, Brian and Kendl. CJ was born in Ganton, Los Santos, San Andreas.
He was born into his home, Johnson House which is also their family home and childhood place.
CJ spent his childhood having a friend named Melvin Haris or called Big Smoke, and Lance Wilson or called Ryder. They spent their childhood growing up together.
In 1985, the Grove Street Families were at the height of their highest heyday until they concluded they encountered pressure from Frank Tenpenny, a corrupt member of the Los Santos city police who participated in a drug syndicate who was also helped by his friend Eddie Pulaski.
In conclusion Grove Street faced an extreme decline in strength from 1987 to 1992.
